1. Who this covers
This policy applies to unimegle.com and the services reachable from it. It covers visitors who never sign in as well as people with an account — the difference is mostly how much there is to collect, and that difference is explained below.
If you do not agree with what follows, the right response is to stop using the service. There is no version of Unimegle that operates without the processing described here.
2. What we collect
2.1 What you give us
- Account details if you register or sign in: an email address, a display name, a password, and optional profile details such as an avatar, a short bio, date of birth and gender.
- Content you create: messages you send, images you upload, and anything you publish on a profile.
- What you tell support: the contents of a support request or a report, including anything you attach to it.
- Billing information if you buy something. Card details go directly to a third-party payment processor — we receive the transaction record, not your full card number.
2.2 What is collected automatically
- Device and browser: device type, operating system, browser, language, screen characteristics and identifiers used to keep a session working.
- Usage: which pages and features you used, when, for how long, and which site referred you.
- Approximate location, derived from your IP address. This is country and region level. We do not collect precise device GPS location unless you explicitly grant it for a feature that needs it.
- Server logs: IP address, request times and system events, which is how abuse, fraud and outages are investigated.
2.3 What comes from elsewhere
- Third-party sign-in: if you sign in with an external account, that provider passes us your name, email address and profile picture. It does not pass us your password.
- Analytics providers, in aggregated or de-identified form.
About video calls. A video conversation is carried in real time between the two participants. We do not publish call recordings, and a call is not a public broadcast. But no service can prevent the person on the other side from recording their own screen — that is outside any platform's control, here or anywhere else. Treat anything you show on camera accordingly.
3. What we use it for
- Running the service: matching you with someone, delivering messages, keeping you signed in, processing purchases.
- Making matches better: interest and language preferences feed into who you meet.
- Safety and enforcement: investigating reports, detecting fraud, ban evasion and automated abuse, and enforcing the Community Guidelines.
- Support: answering you, and being able to see what actually happened when you describe a problem.
- Improving the product: aggregate analysis of what works and what breaks.
- Legal obligations: responding to lawful requests, and protecting the rights and safety of users and the public.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers for them to build a profile of you.
4. What other people can see
If you set a display name and an avatar, the person you are matched with sees them. Anything you publish on a public profile page can be seen by anyone who reaches that page — and public pages can be indexed by search engines, which means a change or a deletion on our side can take time to disappear from someone else's search results.
Your email address, your date of birth and your payment records are never shown to other users.
7. How long it is kept
Account information is kept while the account exists. Server and security logs are kept for a limited period and then discarded. Transaction records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires — that requirement outlives an account, and deleting an account does not erase them.
Records connected to a serious violation — fraud, threats, anything involving a minor — are retained after removal, because that is what prevents the same person from simply signing up again.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, or to have it sent to another service. You can also withdraw consent you previously gave.
Ask through support. We will need enough information to be confident the request comes from the account holder — that check exists to protect you. Some requests have legal limits: we cannot delete a transaction record we are required to keep, and we will not delete an enforcement record on request from the account it concerns.
9. Children
Unimegle is not intended for or directed at children, and the age requirement is in the Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone below that age. If you believe a child has given us information, tell us through support and we will delete it and remove the account.
10. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit, access to production data is restricted, and passwords are stored hashed rather than in readable form. That is meaningful, and it is also not absolute: no system is immune, and a policy that claimed otherwise would be marketing. Use a password you do not use anywhere else, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has reached your account.
11. Where your information goes
Unimegle is used worldwide, and the infrastructure and providers that run it are not all in one country. Your information may be processed in a country other than your own, with different data protection law. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards the applicable law provides for such transfers.
12. Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be signalled in the product rather than made quietly. Continuing to use Unimegle after an update means the current version applies.
13. Contacting us about privacy
Privacy questions, data requests and complaints all go through our support page, which lists the current official channel and what to include so a request can be handled without a round trip.
